Into the mind of the greatest genius of all times
From 13 September to 13 January 2019 you can discover and try out machines invented by the greatest genius of all times at La Sucrière!
This is the largest touring exhibition devoted to the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci. Following Venice and Istanbul, Lyon will be hosting this unmissable event!
Of the 200 objects exhibited, half are reproductions of machines invented by Da Vinci. Among them, you will find his extraordinary gear box, alternator, moving wing and ingenious pulley system. This educational exhibition gives children and adults alike a chance to operate a dozen machine reproductions! Your mission is to unravel the mysteries of his amazing inventions.
Another highlight of the exhibition is the Codex series, comprised of 120 unique facsimiles, as well as original documents such as engravings by Raphael, Dürer and Michelangelo.
For young children, aged six and over, various activities are organised, including 3D films, operating models and building a bridge.
This exceptional event is perfect for the inquisitive, budding inventors and anybody with an interest in Leonardo Da Vinci!
Quick tip: The visit is included in our Lyon City Card!
Virginie comes from Corsica. "We can't all be born in Lyon…" as they say. But our lovely city is now under her skin (although her beloved island remains firmly anchored in her heart).
