Lieux divers
Quartier Gratte-Ciel - 69100 Villeurbanne
Forty or so artists invite you to join them in Villeurbanne from the 19th to the 22nd of June.
Villeurbanne continues to evolve. While much work has recently been carried out to make the town even more attractive, there’s plenty going on in terms of creativity and culture too.
For this 16th edition, “Les Invites” is really setting itself apart by giving pride of place to street performance. Each square, park and street corner of the Gratte-Ciel neighbourhood will become a home for creativity. Artists and companies will be transforming public spaces into places where people can come together and learn.
The festival will be shaking things up: wave goodbye to the daily rush, where people walk past each other on the street without a glance or taking time for each other. Finally, you will be able to stop and see the town transform itself into a hub of contemporary creation. Get outdoors, be curious, meet the artists breathing fresh life into the streets and allow yourself to be carried away by the dancing.
Speaking of dancing, make sure you don’t miss the open ethical fashion show! Avenue Henri-Barbusse will be transformed into a huge, 50-metre-long green catwalk, where you will be most welcome to strut your stuff!
Another highlight of the festival will be six performances of the Compagnie Royal de Luxe’s “Miniatures”. Following the success of “Giants”, which travelled around the world, director Jean-Luc Courcoult is putting on an intimate show, which is slightly darker but shows exceptional tenderness.
In short, we love this free, accessible and slightly mad festival!
Thank you, Les Invites!
Virginie comes from Corsica. "We can't all be born in Lyon…" as they say. But our lovely city is now under her skin (although her beloved island remains firmly anchored in her heart).
