What’s on in March 2019
Bémol 5 is a welcoming home for jazz: a place where it can fully express itself, and where the diversity of guest musicians offers something for all tastes
Those are my thoughts on this jazz venue in a nutshell.
On the practical side, Bémol 5 is located in Lyon’s 5th district and is also a bar-restaurant (yet more reasons to visit!). The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to while away an evening.
The line-up of live music in March includes:
Saturday 9 March: ECCA – Eche-Puig Crambes Convert Alcocer. While showing respect for the masters of gypsy jazz, they have crafted their own sound. Their swing is lively and varied!
Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March: Matthieu Boré & the Gumbo Kings, for the release of their latest album. Something of a crooner, Matthieu Boré is one of those artists whose careers we like to follow. A man of many talents, he is a pianist, singer and composer. With elegant musicality, he offers a chance to rediscover American songs from the 1930s to 50s.
If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to see more live jazz and meet your friends in a cool bar, then you need look no further!

Virginie comes from Corsica. "We can't all be born in Lyon…" as they say. But our lovely city is now under her skin (although her beloved island remains firmly anchored in her heart).
