City of Lyon
What is Smart Tourism in Lyon? Who are those developing an other tourism in our Metropolis? The answer of an ambassador of Smart Tourism: Yann Cucherat, Deputy Mayor, with responsibility for sport and tourism.
Smart destination?
I think it’s a city with a capacity for showcasing its unique attractions around the world in a highly unusual way. And ultimately striking the right balance between people who come to visit the area and those who live there.
Your Smart action?
It’s the enform@Lyon mobile application that Lyon City Council has set up to revisit the traditional fitness trails you see in parks and create a 100-km-long fitness trail right across the city of Lyon, with sporting and cultural attractions all along the way.
Our number one objective, of course, is to showcase our city. And to provide the people who use this application with information about the areas they pass through, the squares they visit and the monuments they walk past.
Your favorite spot?
I think I’d choose Fourvière Basilica with its majestic setting, which provides a whole new perspective on Lyon, but also and maybe especially because of Fourvière’s historical significance.
