Discover the Vallons du Lyonnais

People come here to enjoy a breath of fresh air by walking in the huge wooded expanses, or hiking through Malval, Luère or Croix-du-Ban passes. In days past, city dwellers would come here on board a steam train. Today, they come by coach, bike or car, to hike along one of the countless marked trails, or to cycle on the routes that make up the 500 km mountain-bike circuit, or perhaps to do a spot of horse riding or enjoy Ronzey Lake.

For the most curious among you, the museums (Théâtre La Maison de Guignol, Antoine Brun, L’Araire and Maison du Blanchisseur), will lift the veil to uncover the history, techniques and age-old expertise developed within the 8 villages. All year round, numerous events, some of which are very popular, bring these villages to life: Journée du Fruit, Festival Inter’Val, Fête du Lac, Val Lyonnaise and many more!

Schedule a stop in the Vallons du Lyonnais area to relax, let off steam or have some fun with the family, and taste some of the delicious wares on offer…

A FAMILY DAY

Departure from Lyon at 9am

By 9.45 am, you'll be in Yzeron for a connected "Walking with Guignol" (En Marche avec Guignol) hike. Starting at Châteauvieux chapel, all you have to do is download the "Mhikes" app, and young and old alike will be set to walk the village trails guided by the puppet Guignol. This 4 km walk is fairly flat and is therefore ideal for children.

At lunchtime you can reward your family with a picnic by Ronzey Lake, or head for one of the many village restaurants.

Once you've recharged your batteries, you can pay a visit to Musée Théâtre Guignol in Brindas. Here, you'll discover a collection of over 200 puppets, as well as 2,000 decorative pieces, costumes and accessories. To add to the fun you can even take part in a game during your visit to the museum.

So, now you know everything there is to know about Guignol, it's time to head back.

Back to Lyon at 6pm
