Feel like a musical evening? Discover THE place to go for jazz in the Presqu'île, within the exceptional setting of a vaulted cellar!
Since 1948, the Hot Club Jazz de Lyon has kept the Presqu’île pulsing to the rhythm of its own blue notes. Initially created by the students from the School of Fine Arts (Beaux-Arts) in Lyon, in the spirit of the first jazz clubs that popped up across the Atlantic at the beginning of the 20th century, the Hot Club invites you to enter its vaulted cellar.
With more than 200 concerts a year, music here is festive and highly animated! Did you know that some of the leading jazz musicians have played here at the Hot Club? Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker… A great heritage that the Hot Club aims to build on, now and in the future.
As a springboard for young local musicians and a place where jazz enthusiasts can gather, the Hot Club promotes all styles of jazz: New Orleans, Bebop, Gipsy, Modern, Vocal, Swing, Improvised, Electro, etc.
You're sure to find one you like!
Eléonore is the romantic member of the team! Rumour has it that she knows her classics better than anyone else, and if you want to strike up a conversation with her, just mention Jane Austen, and you'll be away!
