Food and Flower market Croix-Rousse

It is a reflection of its neighbourhood: food-loving, proud to be local and edging towards bohemian. People come here to shop for specialities of Lyon and fresh produce delivered directly from surrounding farms (Be careful: there are also some resellers).

You can buy the following: fruit and vegetables, cheese, meat, poultry, roast chicken, cooked meat, tripe, fish, bread, cakes, wine and flowers.

On weekends and Tuesdays (the day on which the “Manufactured Products Market” (or non-food market) is held on the opposite pavement), 105 stallholders welcome shoppers along a one-kilometre stretch. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, there are thirty or so, while 17 producers are present on Petite Place de la Croix-Rousse from Tuesday to Sunday.

At Croix-Rousse market, people stroll through the bustling crowd between the stalls, meet friends, and chat with stallholders… This is a place where you will be sure to hear Lyon’s local accent and its colourful expressions! There are regular shoppers of all ages, who often end the market with a drink on the terrace of Le Chantecler or in one of the many cafés along the boulevard.

On Saturday, the organic market is held along the upper part of the boulevard and attracts a loyal clientele.
