Happy birthday Arty Farty !
As the Nuits Sonores festival enters its 17th year, the association that created it – Arty Farty – is celebrating its 20th anniversary! From the 15th to the 17th of March 2019 at the Auditorium.
Founded in 1999, it worked to raise the profile and promote the growth of electronic music, which at the time was not recognised by the public authorities.
In 2002, a festival of the same name was born: a prototype of what would become ‘Nuits Sonores’ the following year.
What a fantastic opportunity to celebrate: after all, you’re only 20 once! The Arty Farty team will be taking over the superb Auditorium for a three-day mini-festival.
It will begin on Friday the 15th of March, with the inauguration in the Atrium, followed by a night dedicated to the legendary French TV show ‘Arte Tracks’, for an immersive night of arty performances and electronic exploration.
The stage is then handed over to the DJs, with artists including Rrose from America and P. Moore (of the local nightclub Maison Mère).
On the Saturday, a ‘Mini Sonore’ will be held for children, while their parents can take part in a guess the song challenge held by Nina & Simone, or sing along to a techno karaoke (that’s right, a techno karaoke!).
In the evening, our queer friends of the collective Garçon Sauvage will be taking over.
On Sunday the 17th of March, the excellent composer Arnaud Rebotini will play the full soundtrack of the film ‘120 battements par minute’ with the Lyon National Orchestra (ONL).
