Discover Limonest
Located on the outskirts of the Monts d' Or, to the north-west of the Lyon agglomeration, and formerly called "Les jardins de Lyon", the city preserves more than half of its territory in agricultural and landscaped areas.
The nature is very well preserved, which offers beautiful hiking trails. With the Air Base of Mont-Verdun, Limonest is today the military memory of Lyon and the agglomeration, also valued through the restoration of the Batterie des Carrières. The architectural heritage is typical of the villages of the Monts d' Or and the commune houses the Château de la Barollière, a listed historical monument. One of the oldest motor racing events, known as the "Course de Côte", is one of the oldest in France and has been held there for 83 years.
