Museums open in Lyon 

The Guignol Little Museum: open since 11 May
Relive the story of the puppet Guignol, with the necessary virus protection measures and adjusted opening times (every day from 10:30 am to midday and 2 to 6 zpm)

Musée des Confluences: open since 2 June
Visitors can once again access this museum and its precious collections, with an adapted visitor path, limited capacity and an online service to reserve a time slot to visit. In the meantime, you can discover this incredible building and the treasures it contains through virtual visits on the museum's Facebook page.

Musée urbain Tony Garnier: open since 2 June
While the 25 painted walls are accessible at all times, you can once again visit the museum under certain conditions (including reduced capacity, wearing of a mask and forthcoming reservations for visits).

Centre d'Histoire de la Résistance et de la Déportation: open since 3 June 
The Resistance and Deportation History Centre (CHRD) welcomes visitors in strict accordance with health and protection rules. Initially, visitor capacity will be limited to 30 people. Opening times have been adjusted and the documentation centre will be accessible by appointment.

Musée Jean Couty: open since 3 JuneVisit the museum to discover its new exhibition Jean Couty - Paysages d’ici et d’ailleurs (Jean Couty – Landscapes from here and elsewhere)

ECCLY - Cultural Center of Christianity in Lyon: open since 3 June
Visitors can once again learn about the birth and history of Christianity in Gaul. The cultural centre is located on the site of the former Hôpital de l'Antiquaille.

Musée des Sapeurs-pompiers de Lyon (Fire Brigade Museum): open since 3 June
Children and adults will be delighted to be able to visit the Fire Brigade Museum once more. A new exhibition is coming soon, as well as urban walks to learn all about the history of emergency rescue in Lyon.

Institut d'Art Contemporain: open since 5 June
Villeurbanne's Institute of Contemporary Art (IAC) invites visitors to discover the exhibition Infantia. All necessary precautons are being taken to ensure visitors are received in the best possible conditions.

Cinema and Miniature Museum: open since 6 June
Visitors can at last see the magic of cinema special effects and the art of miniature models once again. A visitor path and virus protection measures have been introduced. Please note that pushchairs will not be allowed for the moment.

Musée des automates (museum of automatons): open since 8 June
The museum’s animated characters are delighted to welcome back visitors and give them a chance to relive major themes of cultural heritage.

Gadagne Museums: open since 12 June 
You can now (re)discover the museum of Lyon’s history and the museum of the art of puppetry. In the meantime, you can stay connected with the museum’s teams, which regularly share anecdotes about the city of Lyon! Visit the Musées Gadagne's Facebook page.

Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication: open since 12 June
Accessible only from Friday to Sunday, this museum offers a pleasant immersion in the fascinating world of graphic works.

Lumière Museum: open since 12 June
You can now visit this museum that looks back at the history of cinema and the amazing inventions of the Lumière Brothers once again!

Musée des Beaux Arts (Museum of Fine Arts): open since 22 June
You can at last enjoy the museum’s permanent collections once again!
Take the experience further: you can have fun downloading and colouring in your favourite works! 

Lugdunum - Museum and Roman Theaters: open since 4 July
Until then, you can delve back into the history of Lyon’s origins on Facebook and Instagram @lugdunummtr. Also, the Roman theatres next to the museum have been open again since 2 June!

OL le Musée: open since 4 july
All experiences at the Groupama Stadium are possible once again! With all protection measures. 

Musée des Tissus (Textile Arts Museum): open since 10th of september.
It's time to go and discover the incredible exhibition Vivienne Westwood.

Museums in Lyon closed until further notice

Musée des Tissus (Textile Arts Museum): visitors will have to wait a bit longer to be able to see the works on display at the Textile Arts Museum. Until then, as part of the #museumathome initiative, you can discover the treasures of its collections on  social networks. Reopening of the Textile Arts Museum on  the 10th of September 2020.

MAC Lyon (Contemporary Art Museum): currently closed for works, it is scheduled to be reopened on the 7th of October for 2 next exhibitions: Edi Dubien and "Comme un Parfum d'Aventure" ("With a Hint of Adventure") (7 October 2020 - 3 January 2021). In the meantime, you can experience a 360° virtual tour of past exhibitions.

La Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie: the reopening date is not yet known.
