Like every year, Les Subsistances is hosting the Assises Internationales du Roman (AIR), for a long weekend of literature for all.
Whether you’re an avid or casual reader, and whether you like beach novels or socially-engaged novels, poetry or history, you’re likely to get swept up by the passion of the event!
For the festival’s twelfth edition, more than 50 writers, philosophers and historians, from various literary backgrounds, will come from around the world to meet their readers, give conferences and debate a variety of fascinating and current topics such as the family saga, society after terrorist attacks, truth and history, rebellion, adolescence, desire and absence or comedy, animals and more.Some of the names include
Headphones will be provided for the translation of conferences and debates.
There will also be discussions about the French language, dictionaries the French-speaking world and other languages.
It is also a superb opportunity to choose which books you want to read next in the pop-up AIR bookshop, or try one of the novels available in the Bibliobus (mobile library).
Lastly, because food for the body is just as important as food for thought, snacks will be available at the event.

Isabelle, our editor born and bred in Lyon! She was born in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon in fact, studied in Lyon and now lives here. Territorial? Absolutely not! She loves travelling, widening her horizons, meeting new people and enjoys a change of scenery (without snow, if possible).
