#streetwear
On the 7th and 8th of April 2018, La Sucrière will be revisiting the 90s, and taking you back down memory lane to the world of streetwear.
Remember when you were constantly plugged into your Discman, and never stopped playing Tetris on your Game Boy? When you refused to wear anything other than Adidas press stud tracksuit bottoms, and never missed an episode of Beverly Hills or Friends?
You do? Then the 1990s have left their mark on you too.
So you won't be averse to revisiting the past at the vintage fashion market (yep, 'fraid so, the 90s are now vintage).
The event, which will be focussing on the influence of Streetwear, and will include 170 exhibitors and lots of entertainment, will immerse you in fashion in the broad sense with decorative objects, graphic arts, and music – all of which originated in the 90s but is now very trendy (you only have to hang around outside a school, look through a fashion magazine or watch a Gucci or Burberry fashion show to prove it).
So have a good rummage and find the vintage items that will update your wardrobe. And flaunt those outsized sweaters, bomber jackets, tartan prints and printed bandanas!
To help you in your search for the Holy Grail, don't miss the Dressing Market by the blogger Sophie la Modeuse.
As for entertainment, the event will not be lacking in atmosphere, with fashion shows, round table discussions, a street style contest (the hunt is on for the best styles), a showcase, retro gaming, and a musical trampoline (until 9 pm on Saturday)… And of course you'll be able to eat on site.
And don't forget that we'll be handing out our famous tote bag to the first 5,000 visitors on Saturday, and again on Sunday.
Julie was not born in Lyon, but she did decide to start her family here! Not that long ago, she would spend most of her evenings out at concerts... Although she has already bought ear defenders for her little 19-month-old boy, so that he can discover the joys of live rock and electronic music (soon!), she is now much more of a morning person as a mother.
