Home, sweet home...
From 17 to 31 December 2019, Home will brighten up your end-of-year celebrations at Les Célestins.
Developed by American actor and illusionist Geoff Sobelle, Home is a silent and multifaceted work that questions the notions of habitat and home.
In a living setting that is built before our eyes, the inhabitants move in, live, die, leave and give way to other generations and others seeking in turn to recreate a home.
A mix of visual theatre, dance and mime, a thousand lives from different horizons animate this house, creating a form of miniature humanity that unfolds before us in connection with the major questions of our time. From migration to poor housing conditions, this project questions the need for an anchor point and the difficulty of creating a place to build oneself.
How does our environment influence the way we live and evolve? How does it shape our destiny? Through the poetry of bodies, tragedy and comedy, this piece resonates universally.
The audience also goes from spectator to actor in this ode to the passing of time, by stepping onstage and taking part in this shared story.
Eléonore is the romantic member of the team! Rumour has it that she knows her classics better than anyone else, and if you want to strike up a conversation with her, just mention Jane Austen, and you'll be away!
