A summer tour of the world
From the 4th of July to the 29th of August 2019, the Jardin des Chartreux will be celebrating the world through music!
One of the essential events of the summer, Les Jeudis des Musiques du Monde is returning to bring you sounds from around the globe and an exotic touch to your summer evenings.
Over the space of six evenings, allow music to transport you from the banks of the Black Sea to Spain, Morocco and Venezuela. This free invitation to travel is held in a friendly, fun and laid-back atmosphere.
What’s more, the Jardin des Chartreux offers a stunning view of Fourvière and the roofs of Vieux-Lyon (Old Lyon). Take a trip around the world with Fourvière Basilica in the background!
Beginning at 7 pm, workshops for kids and adults will offer chances to get involved and experiment with new instruments (like Venezuelan quitiplas), and have a go at traditional dances (including flamenco and Armenian dances), for moments of exchange and discovery.
Eléonore is the romantic member of the team! Rumour has it that she knows her classics better than anyone else, and if you want to strike up a conversation with her, just mention Jane Austen, and you'll be away!
