A late summer culinary journey

To our enormous delight, the Lyon festival dedicated to street food will be back for the 4th time. From the 12th to the 15th September 2019, at Les Subsistances.

Since it was held for the 1st time in 2016, the Lyon Street Food Festival has become an unmissable late summer gastronomic occasion for Lyon. On the menu at this incredible event: chefs from 4 different continents and backgrounds, tastings, workshops, concerts and, above all, an amazing atmosphere!

For 4 days, come and meet the 80 chefs who will be there and discover a multitude of flavours. Ramen, ceviche, stir fries, etc. A genuine street food world tour awaits you!

For the 2019 edition, the focus is on no less than 4 destinations: Kobe, where a wide range of fresh produce is eaten on the move, Madrid, where traditional Spanish cuisine is combined with inspiration drawn from foreign dishes, Finland, where fish is a “must” and is eaten smoked using an age-old method and, of course, Hong Kong, THE capital of street food.

And, as the Lyon Street Food Festival is also a festive and musical event, why not enjoy the concerts and entertainment on offer throughout the weekend on the Live Stage & DJs. From 9 p.m. on Thursday, we will all be warming up our voices together at a crazy karaoke. From 9.30 p.m. on Saturday, we will be swaying our hips to the rhythmic electronic sounds of Voyou.

What’s new for 2019: the Green Cantine will be serving vegetarian and/or vegan dishes made using fresh and seasonal local produce and Live Street Art will be focusing on street art, with the real-time creation of a monumental structure by the artist Lor-K.

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to it already!

Given the success of previous years, I can only recommend that you book your places in advance. For more information and the full programme, go to www.lyonstreetfoodfestival.com

Mélina

Mélina joined our gang this summer, and we're all delighted! She's from the Vendée on the west coast of France, and her eyes are as blue as the ocean that laps its shores. In fact her kind and mischievous eyes are the first thing you notice about her, and you soon realise that despite her gentle and even quite discrete nature lies a boundless source of energy!
