In the eye of the photographer
This exhibition includes some 90 photographs by Robert Doisneau (1912-1994) and 17 works by Jean Couty (1907-1991).From 19 May 2021 to 30 April 2022, at Musée Jean Couty.
Designed by the curator Clotilde Scordia, in collaboration with Atelier Robert Doisneau, the exhibition is based on two themes: artists’ portraits and workshops, on the one hand, and views of Lyon, on the other.
This all-new exhibition presents several series of original prints by the famous French photographer, who is known around the world for his touching and sensitive portraits and genre scenes.
Musée Jean Couty is exhibiting more than 90 photographs, of which twenty or so have never been shown to the public. Charles and Myriam Couty, the museum’s directors, have also had thirty or so prints made, including photos of Lyon taken during the Vogue years.
A humanist to the core, the artist Robert Doisneau revealed an extraordinary world that speaks to all with its poetry and relevance, right up to the present day.
Admission to the museum and its exhibition is included in the Lyon City Card
