Of all the fabrics in the world, Lyon prefers silk, without a doubt!
The Silk in Lyon festival – a major gathering of the silk industry – is returning for its third edition at the Palais de la Bourse.
Lasting four days, it offers an opportunity to explore the silk industry’s many facets. You can meet professionals, manufacturers of silk products and fabrics, and textiles designers, and browse an attractive range of products made in France.
You can also learn how silk is produced, in the demonstration area and along an educational trail that presents the six key stages of the silk-making process: sericulture (silkworm rearing), reeling and throwing, weaving, creation of the design, frame printing and finishing.
You can also enjoy the many workshops and activities on offer during the event: painting on silk, guided tour, introductory weaving class, artistic performances and more. Make a reservation at the online ticket office to take part in workshops and activities.
