From 7 to 23 April 2018, your children are on holiday, and that means children in Lyon too! Make the most of it!
Even if your children are eagerly awaiting the holidays, it may well be the case that you are not quite so keen! But don't worry! With a minimum of organisation and ideas, we bet that you will enjoy the holidays as a family!
So here are a few suggestions to keep your children busy…
If the weather is good, you may well want to go out
Go for a walk in one of the many parks, a bike ride along the river, a treasure hunt-type game (to be downloaded) or spend an afternoon at an outdoor or indoor (depending on the weather) adventure activity centre.
Go on a special family visit or head off on a cruise on the water…
Go to VisiterLyon: Visiterlyon.
For some quiet time or if it rains, you have the choice between a Cinématokid session at Institut Lumière or a show. Our favourite? A musical tale, « Etranges Murmures à l’hôtel Garidov », " (Strange murmurings at Hotel Garidov), on 21 April at the Auditorium (7 years old and upwards).
Take them to the museum!
Also not-to-be-missed, a visit to one of the city’s many museums is just right for those seeking to unwind whilst learning about the local culture. Currently, a whole host of interesting exhibitions are available among which the following might tickle your fancy: Hugo Pratt at the Musée des Confluences, Andy Warhol at the Musée de l’imprimerie, Aqua, a Roman invention at the Lugdunum Museum or, to amaze the little and big ones alike, the newest addition to Mini World – a miniature Lyon!
Ask for a playbook in English at the Musées des Confluences et des Beaux-arts reception.
The visits they like best: The Musée des Confluences for the diversity of its collections, its bestiary and its dinosaurs.
Lugdunum Museum and the Roman theatres to walk on the ancient site and in the museum where they can dress up and play in the children's area.
At the Musée des beaux-arts (Museum of Fine Arts), go on a visit in English.
You like the fact that we offer them the opportunity to develop their creativity? Choose a workshop. We tested it and success is guaranteed: The budding artisans will love the fun silk weaving workshops! And while this is going on, you can visit an exhibition at your own pace. It's a real pleasure that you can enjoy in calm surroundings. Not bad, right?
Do they like their food? Sign them up for a cooking workshop in English at Plum Lyon now!
We hope you have a relaxing, enriching and fun holiday for both you and your children!
Isabelle, our editor born and bred in Lyon! She was born in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon in fact, studied in Lyon and now lives here. Territorial? Absolutely not! She loves travelling, widening her horizons, meeting new people and enjoys a change of scenery (without snow, if possible). Isabelle is curious and a people person, two attributes that often go hand in hand! Her favourite colour is green and her motto "a day without laughter is a day wasted!"
