As we've said before, St Patrick's Day isn't for celebrating the patron saint of beer and Irish coffee! Even though this day has gained a reputation for being pretty merry over the years, we'd like to remind you that this day actually originates from an Irish Christian festival. So now you know... time to party!
Anyone who feels like they have Irish blood in their veins simply needs to wander around Old Lyon to sense the smell of shamrock (or rather hops) drifting out from the bars. But you can also celebrate St Patrick's Day in style elsewhere (in moderation, of course).
For anyone who can't wait until the 17th, the Ninkasi is starting early with a giant blind tasting event on the 13th before continuing with a series of concerts in various locations over the following days. Check out the full programme here.
For people in and around Villeurbanne, get into the Irish spirit with the 'Kids on the Mountain' Celtic music band at the MJC, or enjoy a drink with friends at the Pré Fleuri bar.
Another key event is the St Patrick's Beer Fest in the 9th arrondissement, with live music, food trucks and craft beers!
Finally, it would be impossible for the Hard Rock Café not to celebrate the event! It promises a DJ, special surprises and a great atmosphere.
So calling all would-be leprechauns: don't forget your splash of green, it could bring you good luck!
