Cooking is a rare universal language and a common denominator in all cultures. Everyone agrees when it is well-executed and it brings people (at least nations) together. It does not necessarily need any translation: flavour speaks for itself. It is not surprising that when we venture into distant countries, the first words we translate revolve around “eating”, “restaurants” and “local specialities”. With this (firmly) in mind, for this 2nd season, A La Piscine’s kitchen will be welcoming more visiting chefs.

During its first season, the restaurant invited 12 chefs from around the world into its kitchen. It was a fantastic success, so we are doing it again. There is no better way to discover new culinary cultures and a range of different expertise.

On 6th and 7th December, the kitchen of the restaurant dreamt up by Swimming Poule will be hosting Stefano Terigi and co. These three young stars of new Italian cuisine come from the small Tuscan city of Lucca. The trio draw on the history of a thousand years of local agriculture (and how lush it is) and add their own twist. They do not hesitate to deconstruct the flagship dishes of their stunningly beautiful region – in terms of both its landscape and cuisine.

Make sure to mark your calendar: on 17th and 18th January 2019, A La Piscine will be welcoming Jeremy Chan. This young man has worked in some of the world’s most famous establishments (Noma, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, etc.). He has opened a modern West-African restaurant in London, known as Ikoyi, and was recently awarded a Michelin star. The diners who have treated their taste buds to the delights of his restaurant have emerged with “butterflies in their stomachs” and an eagerness to enjoy his cuisine again.
