Discover Charbonnières-les-Bains
Between Monts d'Or and Monts du Lyonnais, Charbonnières-les-Bains took advantage of a ferruginous spring in the 19th century to create a thermal spa.
The construction of this spa allowed for the arrival of a casino in the neighbouring town of La Tour de Salvagny and quickly gave the town the appearance of a seaside resort.
Even if the thermal baths are now destroyed, the town has kept its resorts, thanks in particular to the numerous animations proposed by the casino.
Every year, the best rally drivers meet there for a race that attracts some 300,000 spectators.
