An evening in Lyon? You’re in for a treat!
Looking for partying, culture or food?
The day draws to an end and a superb evening lies ahead. Let your mood guide you!
We hope you’re not the indecisive type as there is a huge selection of nightlife on offer!
Here are a few suggestions to choose from according to the occasion (family, friends, with a loved one or work colleagues), your mood and your level of energy (visiting a city is tiring work!) You might like to end the day in a café-théâtre with some laid-back humour, or dance a bit of swing within a cellar jazz bar, or perhaps a warm, cosy and comfortable pub or cocktail bar setting, or finally (if you have any energy left) a live music bar or a nightclub to party on into the early hours…Alternatively, you might like to try one of Lyon’s small theatres to discover up-and-coming local talent in a friendly atmosphere. Then, there are the great classics: an evening at the opera, a concert at the auditorium, catch a show at the Maison de la Danse or in Lyon’s major theatre venues Les Célestins and the TNP. Lyon’s cultural agenda is always packed whatever the time of year.
To discover Lyon in a different light, you may be tempted by an evening dinner cruise on the Rhône and Saône. Enjoy a relaxing gourmet experience to end the day on a romantic note.
Last, but by no means least, don’t forget that you’re in France’s capital of gastronomy: this is a fantastic opportunity to replenish your energy reserves in one of its many fine restaurants!
As you leave, experience the charm of Lyon by night. More than 300 iconic buildings are lit up all year round, transforming the city every evening.
Isabelle, our editor born and bred in Lyon! She was born in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon in fact, studied in Lyon and now lives here. Territorial? Absolutely not! She loves travelling, widening her horizons, meeting new people and enjoys a change of scenery (without snow, if possible). Isabelle is curious and a people person, two attributes that often go hand in hand! Her favourite colour is green and her motto "a day without laughter is a day wasted!"
