Plant light wall painting
Clinique St Charles, rue de l'Annonciade - 69001 Lyon 1er
This 800 m², 120 m-long floodlit painted wall decorated with climbing plants shows three photos of Yann Arthus Bertrand on the theme of protecting the planet, photos of countries where the Soeurs de Saint Charles worked as missionaries, etc.
This hyperrealistic painting is paired with a selection of plants, by the Canevaflore corporation, composed of pollinating flowers with strong, powerful odours.
Painted on the outside wall of the St-Charles clinic, on the Rue de l’Annonciade, this is 500th piece painted by the Cité de la Création, and it was inaugurated 6th December 2010 (for the Fete des Lumieres) and completely finished by October 2011.
It won, in November 2012, the International City People Light Award, granted by the Lucy Network. It won due to its lighting, artistic quality and urban materials. Additionally, the Sisters of Saint Charles are involved in progressing sustainable development in Africa.
