Musée des Confluences
86 quai Perrache - 69002 Lyon 2ème
It is one of the latest great contemporary museums which alone are enough to justify a trip to Lyon.
So of course, you wouldn't miss this visit for anything!
To begin with, the museum's architecture is incredible! Made of glass, concrete and stainless steel, it stands erect like a beacon on the headland at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers.
Such a building could only house an exceptional museum, one that encompasses scientific, technical and societal knowledge relating to Earth, humanity, history and geography. In other words, it is a gateway to the world, the universe and knowledge in general. How fascinating is that!
It opens up a whole host of possibilities and promises many a discovery!
This is an essential step in Lyon's cultural landscape. It has lots of surprises in store for us and is an opportunity to travel and grow.
Access to the Museum and its exhibitions is included in the Lyon City Card, which also enables users to beat the queue!
The permanent collections of the Musée des Confluences are located on the second floor of the building:
If you are visiting the museum with children, don't miss the dinosaurs and the Choulans mammoth (Room 21), the animals (Room 22) or the Egyptian mummies (Room 24).
In parallel to the museum's permanent itinerary there are temporary exhibitions, important artistic and scientific conferences, world music concerts, thematic weeks and various events.
The museum also boasts a bookshop store, brasserie and café.
