Located on the historic slopes of the Croix-Rousse, it's impossible to pass by Le Nombril du Monde without stopping to admire its emblematic facades.
Founded on 31 December 1990, the Nombril du Monde is a benchmark for comedy and café-théâtre in Lyon. Throughout the year, it presents comedies devised and created by the members of the Troupe du Nombril du Monde, and also welcomes outside companies.
Since 2015, this café-théâtre has also had an adjoining Bistro (le BistrO d'à cÔté, 28 rue des Tables Claudiennes) where you can meet the comedians before and after the show... Meetings full of sharing and laughter! All in a warm and friendly atmosphere for evenings out with family, colleagues or friends.
Every New Year's Eve on 31 December (the day of the Café-théâtre's first performance), the audience joins the Troupe in celebrating the birthday of Le Nombril du Monde. Laughter and conviviality are the watchwords of this exceptional evening!
It's also the place where Florence Foresti took her first steps into the world of comedy! (Yes, that's right!)
