Le jardin des curiosités (i.e., the garden of curiosities): Lyon seen from above
place Abbé Larue - 69005 Lyon 5ème
Perched up on Fourvière hill, the entrance of this garden is located at the back of a car park (as if hidden!) and offers a majestic view over the city.
I hesitated before publishing this recommendation, torn between the desire to declare my love for this place and keep this little gem for myself, like a secret garden! Well, here it is: my very personal recommendation!
I like to come here to relax and enjoy the panoramic view… Visited by the neighbourhood’s high school students during the week, the garden is full of life. Sometimes lively and sometimes calm, this is a place where life’s little moments are shared…
Created by a team of designers from Montreal (hence the name ‘Jardin de Montréal’), I prefer the charming and suggestive name “Jardin des Curiosités”: here, whatever the time of day and whatever the light is like, the city reveals its most beautiful curiosities: a glimpse of an inner courtyard in a town house, a strange and amusing roof… Lyon looks like a maze with its chaotic constructions. Then, when night comes, the city of lights lies at your feet.
Another curiosity is the chairs – such peculiar works of art!
I think you get the gist: I totally love this little patch of green!
Laetitia is a real ray of sunshine. Needless to say, there's no chance of getting bored when working by her side! Whether she's cheerful or glum, she's wont to burst into song, with tunes that tend to stick in your mind all day. Well where's the fun in a non-catchy song?
