A real vocal French and Italian firework to end our cultural season
Between French suavity and transalpine audacity, Les Pages (singers) de la Maîtrise du Versailles baroque music center revisit the finest French petits motets (music pieces) by Italianate Baroque composers. Italy has always been a source of inspiration and fascination for French composers. The grandtour to Italy was not only reserved for painters and architects, it was also an obligatory passage for many of them. This musical program highlights such composers as Nicolas Bernier, André Campra, Nicolas Clérambault and of course Marc-Antoine Charpentier, the greatest herald of the dialogue between French and Italian music.
Program :
Petits motets (music pieces for singer) by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Henri Dumont, Paolo Lorenzani, André Campra and Nicolas Bernier.
