Moby-Dick

Massachusetts, 1840. Drawn to the open sea, Ishmael signs on as a sailor aboard a whaling ship captained by Ahab. As the vessel heads into deep waters, the sailor uncovers Ahab’s true intention: to lead the crew on a relentless quest to find Moby-Dick, the massive whale that crushed his leg.
There’s something primal in Melville’s Moby-Dick, a passionate force that leaves no one indifferent—the suspense of a wild chase, a titanic battle, and an insatiable thirst for revenge. According to Albert Camus, the novel remains one of the most moving myths ever written about humanity’s battle against evil, which is the inexorable fight that ultimately pits man against himself.
Experience the Lyon Opera’s main hall with your family thanks to this concert-fiction, combining symphony orchestra, actor-narrators, and the world of radio in a large-format immersive event.
