The Vogue des Marrons is Lyon's traditional funfair and a major event on the Croix-Rousse from October to mid-November.
Held every year on the Croix-Rousse plateau for about a month between October and November, it is the last vogue of the year, and spreads out over a large part of the Boulevard de la Croix-Rousse, the whole of the Place de la Croix-Rousse and the Place des Tapis, and blocks the exit from the rue Terme tunnel. This is where the first chestnuts of the year are eaten.
Born over 150 years ago, it has become as much a Lyon tradition as the food market, the traboules and the authentic bistros.
The programme includes children's rides, thrill rides, ghost trains, cuddly toys, bumper cars and candyfloss.
