Camille

Rising with a smile on her face in the morning, always curious and enthusiastic to discover new places (and new dishes) in Lyon, Camille is what the specialists refer to as a « compulsive tester ».

More partial to savoury than sweet (even though offering her a praluline – a delicious brioche filled with pralines – is a sure-fire way to get in her good books), Camille devotes herself body and soul to testing new food establishments in Lyon. Her radar for new addresses is legendary.

You may well see her on the slopes of Croix-Rousse hill, where she lives, with smartphone in hand, hunting down street art that appeared during the night, or a tote bag on her shoulder going to a Pilates or yoga class. Camille has more interests than just food, of course: she likes strolls in her neighbourhood, walks along the banks of the Saône, going to the cinema, unearthing new creative designers, and finding things to do as a family.

And because a love of Lyon (and great food) can be passed on even at a very young age, her son, who is 6¾ years old (yes, every quarter is important when they’re that age), is a very willing assistant on her missions to try out new ice cream flavours at Unico, Fresco, Sur le bout de la langue, and other parlours...
