Come to Place Saint-Jean to join in the celebrations
In many of Lyon’s bars, wine cellars and restaurants, the third Thursday of November is devoted to the release of one of our terroir’s leading, and often underrated, products – Beaujolais Nouveau!
Will people love it or loathe it? Will it have a hint of banana or other notes? The verdict will be given on the 15th of November 2018.
Don’t miss out on the activities put on by the young farmers of the Beaujol'en Scène committee at Place Saint-Jean in Lyon:
Wednesday the 14th of November 2018: tasting of Beaujolais AOP wines and discovery of Beaujolais’ terroir (6.30 pm), torch-lit procession and barrel-rolling accompanied by the marching band Beaujol'éfémère (11.45 pm), followed by tapping of the barrels and tasting of the Beaujolais Nouveau at midnight on the dot, as tradition dictates!
Thursday the 15th of November 2018: tasting of Beaujolais Nouveau and Beaujolais AOP wines, from 4 to 11 pm.
To be enjoyed with moderation, of course.
Rising with a smile on her face in the morning, always curious and enthusiastic to discover new places (and new dishes) in Lyon, Camille is what the specialists refer to as a « compulsive tester ». More partial to savoury than sweet (even though offering her a praluline – a delicious brioche filled with pralines – is a sure-fire way to get in her good books), Camille devotes herself body and soul to testing new food establishments in Lyon. Her radar for new addresses is legendary.
